Leading by Listening to Our Neighbors
"I'll bring our community together and lead by listening. Our best ideas come from people like you: our neighbors, educators, first responders, small business owners and community leaders."
PROTECTING PUBLIC SAFETY
When residents don’t feel safe in a community, it significantly diminishes their quality of life. That’s why it’s critical that public safety is a top priority at City Hall. I’ll work to ensure our police department is adequately staffed and that they have the resources they need to recruit and retain the most qualified officers in the region. I'll also keep close vigilance on our emergency response times in order to ensure residents feel confident that when they call 9-1-1, an emergency responder will arrive on scene as fast as possible.
PARKS & AMENITIES
I believe people love Chula Vista because it’s a great place to raise a family. A key part of our family friendly atmosphere is our commitment to providing parks and recreation services that provide a place for young families to relax and play. In addition, publicly available recreation services geared toward teenagers can help reduce crime and provide the structure they need to succeed in life.
DELIVERING CITY SERVICES
You deserve the best possible city services for your tax dollars. As your Councilmember, I’ll fight to ensure District 3 receives its fair share of resources and services. Whether it's police and firefighters, more infrastructure dollars, more regular maintenance of parks, or other city services, I’ll work hard to ensure my constituents receive what they’ve paid for with their tax dollars.
GROWING OUR LOCAL ECONOMY
With new businesses opening constantly, access to a diverse and strong regional economy, and with a nearby university, Chula Vista is poised to tap new opportunities for businesses and our local economy to grow. As your Councilmember, I’ll work with city staff to cut red tape in order to expedite the opening or expanding a business, and will constantly interact with business owners – large and small – to understand the obstacles and opportunities that exist.
A FISCALLY RESPONSIBLE APPROACH
I believe a Councilmember should be a trusted guardian of taxpayer dollars, ensuring they are spent wisely, effectively, and responsibly on projects and policies that best serve our residents. If elected, I will be dedicated to reducing overhead, reducing pension obligations through increased efficiency, eliminating ineffective or obsolete programs, and ensuring sound budget priorities.
